XANTHELASMA OR CHOLESTEROL DEPOSITS
These are soft yellowish plaques of lipids usually found in the periorbital area (around the eyes).
They vary in size and can often be raised from. Some individuals are predisposed to them. They are believed to be related to abnormal lipid metabolism.
As with most sebaceous lesions, unsightly cholesterol deposits can be quickly removed using a gentle tapping procedure working towards the centre of the deposit, to release the liquid and ultimately remove the lesion.
